Along with a box of chocolate-covered macadamia nuts, my sister brought me this cute straw box full of vintage and new beads from her recent trip to Hawaii. She got them at a swap meet somewhere on Oahu. Such a thoughtful gift. I love my sister. And I’m excited to use some of these (check out the itty bitty owl!) in my jewelry designs.
Speaking of which, I have every intention of updating my Etsy shop tomorrow or Tuesday with some new designs. Probably. Maybe. We’ll see.
Like I said in my previous post, May totally kicked my butt. June has thus far been hella stressful too. To semi-sum up: my brother-in-law has been in the hospital for a week with a major back injury (they did emergency surgery a few days ago but he isn’t recovering as quickly as he should), which means I’ve been extra busy doing little things to help out my in-laws since they’re at the hospital almost 24/7, on top of worrying about him — PLUS my other brother-in-law is staying with us for two weeks while he trains for a new job (he lives in Knoxville, Tenn., but the new job is headquartered here). And I’m about to be going through some big changes related to my job, which has me moderately freaked out…. Anyway, I just haven’t really had time to make stuff, much less blog about making stuff or not making stuff or what I ate for lunch. (As much as I would rather be doing those things than dealing with all this crap.) To be honest, I’m barely keeping my head above water.
On another note: my birthday is less than a month away! How much of a nerd does it make me that I want a new motorcycle helmet?
